Additivity of maps preserving Jordan $eta_{ast}$-products on $C^{*}$-algebras

Let $mathcal{A}$ and $mathcal{B}$ be two $C^{*}$-algebras such that $mathcal{B}$ is prime. In this paper, we investigate the additivity of maps $Phi$ from $mathcal{A}$ onto $mathcal{B}$ that are bijective, unital and satisfy $Phi(AP+eta PA^{*})=Phi(A)Phi(P)+eta Phi(P)Phi(A)^{*},$ for all $Ainmathcal{A}$ and $Pin{P_{1},I_{mathcal{A}}-P_{1}}$ where $P_{1}$ is a nontrivial projection in $mathcal{A...

Response to: Comments on "Property-Based Software Engineering Measurement: Refining the Additivity Properties"

The recently published measure property set of Briand, Morasca, and Basili [1] establishes the foundation of a real software measurement theory. Unfortunately, a number of inconsistencies related to additivity properties might hinder its acceptance and further elaboration. In this paper, it is shown how to remove the ambiguity in the property definitions.

‘ Additive difference ’ models without additivity and subtractivity 1 D . Bouyssou

This paper studies conjoint measurement models tolerating intransitivities that closely resemble Tversky’s additive difference model while replacing additivity and subtractivity by mere decomposability requirements. We offer a complete axiomatic characterization of these models without having recourse to unnecessary structural assumptions on the set of objects. This shows the pure consequences ...

Nontransitive Decomposable Conjoint Measurement 1

Traditional models of conjoint measurement look for an additive representation of transitive preferences. They have been generalized in two directions. Nontransitive additive conjoint measurement models allow for nontransitive preferences while retaining the additivity feature of traditional models. Decomposable conjoint measurement models are transitive but replace additivity by a mere decompo...

Additivity of loudness across critical bands: a critical test.

The use of magnitude estimation as well as axiomatic measurement theory has led to the suggestion that loudness adds across critical bands. In the present paper, we challenge this postulate by applying a more sensitive methodology, based on Falmagne's (1976) random conjoint measurement procedure. A necessary condition for additivity of loudness was investigated in tone complexes consisting of 2...

Additivity in the tetrachromatic colour matching system.

The trichromatic system of measurement. although suitable for fields subtending around 2 . does not give a linear metric with larger fields because of the presence of rod receptors. Their presence is allowed for in the tetrachromatic colour match and so one might expect the tetracllromatic system to be more linear. it is the purpose of this paper to test this by compariq tetra~hromatie and tric...
